I am doing a large public Art piece...
as part of it I am sneaking a time capsule into it...
seriously... suggest things to put in it. I am making the box but it will probably be around 6 to 8 cubic feet.
so the things we are already putting in:
- 2009 currrency ($20, $10, $5, $1 - and change - maybe all 50 state coins).
- Time magazine for that week.
- LA Times.
- NY Times.
- Literary rag (the star or National Enquirer).
- postage stamps.
- welding rods (the type used to weld it).

Re: Time capsule
Thu, September 10, 2009 - 8:38 PMAs things typical of these times I would stick Viagra, Pampers, and a twitter-loaded I-Pod in there--- plus a manual out of a Prius. -

Re: Time capsule
Fri, September 11, 2009 - 6:11 AMWhat Briggi said about the twitter-loaded I-pod. Tho' I'm not too optomistic about it "traveling well" into the future.
Half-seriously, keep the cash and replace it with an IOU. -

Thu, October 1, 2009 - 8:37 AMIf you are putting in anything that is made of paper be sure that the paper is a type that doesn't decay quickly with time. Most paper will.

Put some political ad posters in it with the slogans and promises typically used to deceive people into voting for the grifter in question.
That way in a hundred years or people can pop the thing open and nod their heads and say:
"The more things change the more they stay the same."
