Window U-factor sticker question.

So I found a great deal on the creigslist, two huge commercial grade aluminum windows which I am going to instal in my house.
The problem is that they don't have any U-factor certification. The windows were stored for 3-4 years and were never used.
These are nice argon filled windows. Is the building inspector going to give me hard time if the stickers are not on them?
What can I do to make the inspection? Is there a law making it impossible to instal second hand or custom made windows?

Depending on the room and local codes your inspector will be concerned about the square inches of the windows
( for fire codes: ingress/egress) and whether they are tempered glass.

Your local codes will vary so unless you are speaking with some one knowledgeable in the exact area where you are you will never get a reliable answer to a code question.

Best bet is to call the code enforcement people and ask them.

Remember Tribe is not a local phenom. It's nation and international.

I seriously doubt that there is code covering used windows on a private residence. Even if there were, you'd probably be well under the radar, especially if you installed them on the weekend, when inspectors are not working . If they're only a few years old they're up to code, or they wouldn't have been made. So realistically, I wouldn't worry about it, just do it,.....next Sat.

High ticket gas filled double pane windows are going to have manufacturer's logo plus nomenclature code impressed or baked in to the very corner. Access these to trace relevant particulars. Something like windowglass replacement usually will not elicit a whole lot of interest on the part of city hall.

What if I already got a building permit to replace them???

I'd just go ahead and do it. When I saw them coming ( inspector) I'd grab the Windex, and start cleaning, proud of your new windows. If they did ask about the stickers, I'd just look at them and say stickers for what ? Some times it's better to ask forgiveness, than permission. They're not going to make you take out the windows and throw them away, because you don't have a sticker on them .
