I have never tried them myself so I am not sure how effective they would be for heavy stock, but if it doesn't work for this project I am sure you could find some other uses for them.

According to that Amazon link she...uh, I mean he, provided, the chart is quite literally a "book".... only the detail was mud-clear about if it had a fold-out part 15 pages long, or if the chart was on 15 separate pages. I guess it pays when a person asking here will assume we are not mind-readers and provide enough intelligence for one to proceed in a not-half-assed manner..

supposed to be hung against a wall? .... What do the book's instructions say about just how it's supposed to be hung?

Needing to hang it, drill a hole in the upper left hand corner of the book, then hang it by a cord from a nail hammered into the wall... like a telephone book hanging by a cable from a phone booth.

If you're not too worried about the item getting stolen, and don't really need to attach it to a wall, then leave it on a coffee table for folks to enjoy as they would a book.

Wow that looks like a great find. All I can think of is displaying it like the oldfashioned juke boxe stations that used to be at each table in the Malt Shop. Each page in a plastc sleeve with little tabs to turn the pages. Something to hold the pages open since the image covers both sides. Maybe set into a frame that would open and could be like an ever changing exhibit. How Cool. Now wonder you wanted to put it out there. Thanks for sharing the picture.

warning... some wall putty causes discoloration. You might consider laminating it with clear contact paper or putting another paper behind it if you believe it to be valuable to you, at least as a precaution. it also depends on what kind of wall you mat have concrete walls are not so friendly to sticky stuff as other walls might be.there are these removable products that 3M makes that you can just peel off when you are done. you might also be able to fashion a holder yourself that will not damage the piece. i used 6 small boxes worth of putty in my classroom and most of it stayed up. I think that it might be the best solution.k

no you really didn't deserve any kind of reprimand - you did NOTHING wrong... we am smart enough to know what you were talking about.
we was just being playful... sometime people take things a wee bit too seriously... we meant no disrespect (I guess I should speak for myself... and let the muppet and the frog chime in if'n they wants too.).

I'm sticking (pun intended) to my original suggestion...
poster putty... make sure it is non-staining, and good brand name... scotch or 3m etc... they know their sticky stuff.

the bigger it is... maybe the more little wads of putty you use. If it is valuble... you may want to mount it and "archive" it... if it is more or less a poster, then nothin' wrong with poster putty

Okay, folks, I deserved it. I was in a hurry and thought they were pretty ubiquitous, so I really didn't explain myself.
It is "The Wall Chart of World History, From Earliest Times to the Present. It is roughly 12.25 x 17.5 when closed and opens up with about 14 pages that fold out. It is relatively heavy stock. There are no dowels, it does not have a frame.

I'll try to do better next time.....

I am guerssing the reason for the smart alekly replies is mostly because you failed to tell the group anything about this chart.

Does it have a frame?
Does it have dowels on the ends that it maybe rolls up around?
What's it made of?

You need to tell people something in order for them to have a mental image - - OR - - take some pictures and post 'em.
