  • The picture doesn't show me mugch but I'm guessing that there is an inner curved wall that is covered with little metal disks. I'm guessing they can wobble for some kind of shimmery effect?

If so then they aren't called anything by any one who wasn't part of the build team. They were probably drawn up and specified by the architect just for that building. They could vapor deposition coated plastic or metal.
    • Cliff is right. They're probably commissioned specifically for that installation. If you're looking for scraps, talk to any metalworker who is stamping shapes out of any kind of sheet metal.
      • I can't make sense of your picture either, but I'm wondering whether "cheap plastic" might be what you need.

Compact Discs are made of vapor deposition coated, polycarbonate plastic. Somewhere out there there are dumpsters full of junk CDs. I'm also led to believe that polycabonate can be die cut, so in theory you could punch a whole lot of shiny discs (up to about 1 1/4" diameter) out of cheap or free plastic. Also if 4.7" shiny discs are what you need, there's no need to do any cutting.

No guarantees that any of the above will work as intended, but it might be worth experimenting a little.
